A funeral will occur Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. A graveside will occur Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at External Service Location, 4310 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that. God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
Dora Lee was born on March 16, 1938 to the late Roy Land and Meller Weesie Land Morris in Magnolia Spring, Texas; the 3rd out of nine children. She grew up in Kirbyville Texas she attended “Call Elementary and High School “; and West Kirbyville High. On January 7, 1957, she married her beloved, husband M.C. “Mack” Cheatham and resided in Mc Nary Arizona where they began their family. They later moved to Phoenix in 1967; continued to raise their family of 4 girls and 2 boys. Dora and Mack were united in holy matrimony for 33 yrs until his transition on June 16, 1990.
She attended South Park Church of God for many years, under the pastorship of the late Rev. Charles Wilson. She was faithfully attending Way of Life Church with Pastor Burke Mortoya, until her health failed and she was no longer physically able to attend. Dora was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was steadfast and unmovable in her faith and service to God. She avidly shared the Word and her testimony with exuberant joy wherever and whenever she could. She was instrumental and was a major influence in bringing many into the kingdom and into a personal relationship with the Lord. Dora was a diligent worker; known for her unselfish giving and loving heart. She loved her loved family and friends
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, husband: M.C. “Mack” Cheatham; oldest daughter Virgie Cheatham Lewis; son-in-law: John Lewis; grandson: Keith Cheatham; brother: E.J Land, sisters Alla Mae Land Butler; Mittie Marie Land Alfred and Katherine Land Samuel. She leaves to cherish her memory: Three daughters Maxsine Boswell (Jerry) of Phoenix Az , Meller Lee Cheatham Wajackoyah (George) of Laveen, Az; Rebecca Farthing (Darryl) Casa Grande; Two sons Mack Cheatham, (Leticia) Phoenix Az and Bryan Cheatham of Laveen, Az.; Grandchildren: Lamika Ballew, Lawrence Gibson, Loren Gibson, Zari Cheatham, Trinity Cheatham, John Lewis, Dejuan Lewis, Crystal Cheatham, and Bryan Cheatham Jr., fifteen great grands; Sisters: Freddie Mae Lewis (Coston) of Magnolia Springs, Tx, Elouise Land of Buda, Tx, Gayla Brown, Evelyn Varner, and Arlisa Mattox of Arlington, Tx. Lifelong friend and schoolmate Ms. Carrie Booker of Houston, Tx as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
