Donna Ann (Brockman) Strong was born August 22, 1943 in Sweetwater Texas and passed away on September 11th, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. She moved to Yuma, Arizona as a little girl and grew up there making lifelong friends along the way. She was the oldest of four children and is survived by her brothers Bill (Betty) and Eddie (Bonnie) and her sister, Judy (Barry). When she was 18, her family moved to Garden Grove, California where she met the love of her life, Dave, who she was married to for 59 years. She was a committed Christian and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She loved her family fiercely. She was completely devoted to her children Jayme (Allan), Janis (Trey) and Janae (Nathan). She would drop everything to be with them generously giving of her time and love. She adored her grandchildren, Emilee (Jacob), Andrew (Ashtyn), Tara, Allison (Ryan), Isaac, and Caleb. They were her world and each one thought they were her “favorite”. Just when she thought life couldn’t get any sweeter her great grandchildren came along. Graham, Grayson, Harper, Samuel and Owen brought her so much joy.
Donna lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed skiing, traveling, sewing and crafting. She loved going up north to the “cabin” in Flagstaff, cooking big family dinners, playing games and taking long walks in the forest with Dave. Through the years she traveled many places. Her favorite places of all were Tuscany and Paris. Although, Alzheimer’s took so much from her in the last couple of years, she continued to recognize her family and friends. Always smiling and reaching out to hold the hand of those that came to visit. We will be forever indebted to Hospice of the Valley for caring so well for her in her last months of life. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley at HOV.org in loving memory of Donna Strong.
