He met the love of his life Bonnie during his high school years, they were married July 19, 1969. Don graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, once completing his enlistment with honorable discharge, he and Bonnie moved to Cape Cod to start his career as a pressman for the Cape Cod Times while raising his new family. Over the years he enjoyed gardening in the backyard with a fruitful competition between him and Doug, his next door neighbor on the best vegetables of the season. Don always enjoyed happy hour with all the neighbors, lobster boils and hanging out with friends and family. In 1999 Don and Bonnie moved to Arizona where he was a pressman for the Arizona Republic until his retirement in June 2013. After his retirement you could find him at his Starbucks drinking a cup of coffee or having a little getaway to Laughlin. Every day he would ask Donna if we were going to the casino. He loved all the cooking shows, it was his challenge to go get the ingredients to replicate or better the recipes. Boy, did he love his spaghetti sauce, we are sure there is still some in his freezer. He was the greatest husband, father and Pa, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
