Donald Bernard Jolly, 92, of Phoenix Arizona passed away on March 21, 2015. He was born on December 23, 1922 in Carbondale, IL. His father was Emery E. Jolly and his mother was Martha A. Jolly. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 serving 4 years during WW II before finishing his Naval career as an Aviation Machinists Mate Second Class. During his Naval career he married the love of his life, Verina Doris Blaylock. Together they had 3 children: Sandra Kay Smith, Rebecca Ann Timmons and Mary Elizabeth Maple and 7 grandchildren.
Donald worked as a bus mechanic helping invent equipment used in buses today. He retired from being a bus mechanic in 1977 but still kept active serving as a bus inspector for the next 15 years.
He is survived by his daughters Sandra Smith and Mary Maple. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jolly and his daughter Rebecca Timmons. Services will be held on March 31st at 10am at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024, where he will be reunited with his loving wife, Doris, and honored for his service in WW II.
