David Ray Wood II, 58, of Phoenix, AZ, currently was residing in Wasilla Alaska, passed away on September 4, 2024. Born on June 26, 1966, in Arlington, IL, he was a devoted man of faith and cherished his roles as a husband, father, son, and grandfather.
David served proudly in the Marines, a testament to his dedication and love for his country. Throughout his life, he pursued his passions fervently; he was an avid fisherman, a beekeeper, and a gardener, which he often described as his therapy. He enjoyed golfing with his mother, Lynn Dean, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His commitment to community service was evident in his active participation in Wreaths Across America, honoring veterans during the holiday season.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Wood; mother, Lynn Dean; sister, Lana Wood; daughter, Kalynn Quarve and her husband Andy; son, Daniel Wood; and grandchildren, Rachael, Samuel, and Aiden Wood, an Aunt and Uncle and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Lois Nell Pierce, along with several beloved aunts.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mission Valley Church 2740 E Union Hills Drive, Phoenix 85050 on September 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM. In remembrance of David's generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans.
