David Elmer Williams, 88 years of age, of Tempe, Arizona, died on the morning of September 11, 2012. He was born in Macon City/Macon County Missouri on January 21, 1924 to the late James Elmer Williams and Lena Bissoux Williams. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris May Clark Williams, and by three children, Terry Wayne Williams, Tommy Joe Williams, and Tammy Colleen Williams Schembri. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
David Williams attended Rensselaer High School in Missouri, and married Doris May Clark on December 25, 1944 in Hannibal Missouri. He and his family attended Hydesburg Methodist Church in Hannibal until 1962.
In Missouri, he was a farmer and worked other full time jobs, including as a driver for the Midland Milk Company. He moved to Arizona in 1962 where he was a Mechanical Engineer for Arizona State University, and before that, the University of Arizona. He always worked two full time jobs, including construction. He lived in Tempe since 1962 and was a Sunday School Teacher at Grace Community Church in Tempe.
He was particularly dedicated to his wife, children, work, the scriptures, and a modest lifestyle. He was an avid reader.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, the 15th day of September, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.at Carr-Tenney Mortuary 2621 S. Rural Road, Tempe.
