He was born to parents, Ernie and Millie on September 19, 1942. He grew up in Wayne Michigan and he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Leverenz. Dale retired from Ford Motor after 37 years of service and moved to Arizona to be close to family and enjoy the warm weather and sunshine.
Dale was predeceased by his wife Nancy, granddaughter Sarah, brother’s Leroy, Wayne, Melvin and sister Mary. He is survived by his son Dale (Susie), daughter Karen Schmaltz (Tom), grandchildren Tommy (Annie), Jacob (Krista), Preston and 10 great grandchildren and his brother Noel.
Dale was devoted to his family and was very giving. His playful personality showed in all his Dad jokes. Gonzo was one of his favorite pups, among many, and there are great memories of their adventures. Dale stayed connected to his family in Michigan enjoying their many phone conversations. Dale will be greatly missed as we await and hope for our joyous reunion.
Visitation will be on Thursday September 7th at 10 A.M., praying the Rosary at 10:30 A.M., funeral service starting at 11:00 AM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Dignity Memorial Funeral Home on 710 W Bethany Home Rd. Committal at the graveside will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Arizona Humane Society, azhumane.org. Catholic Mass intentions are also encouraged by the family.
