Charles Eugene McKissack, 88 passed away peacefully on April 22, in Peoria, AZ. The interment will be a private family ceremony in Phoenix, AZ. Gene was Born on June 4, 1929 in Mabank, Texas to Robert and Nuel McKissack. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and attended the University of Texas in Austin. He served as a lieutenant in the Navy.
He married Barbara Butterworth in 1953. He is survived by his wife Barbara McKissack and three children, Michelle McKissack, Dion McKissack (wife - Christine) and Scott McKissack (wife - Barbara) and 9 grandchildren as well as sisters Ruth Anderton and Rita McKissack.
