Barnett, Carol J. age 92, left this world February 6th, 2015 to be with her Heavenly Father. She was born Sept. 29, 1922 in Coshocton, Ohio to Clifford and Mae Emerson. Her two sisters, Vernal Wright and Dorothy Arnold predeceased Carol.
Carol leaves behind two nieces, Patricia Radatz of Chino, California and Danean Caifa of Mesa Arizona, and also seventeen great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many neighbors and friends she has made throughout her 74 years here in Arizona.
Carol had several jobs while she was young, but the one she always talked about was her time at Thunderbird Base during World War II building airplanes. Here she met her true love, Guy (Barney) Barnett Jr. They were married on July 14, 1945. Guy passed away December 1983.
Carol did volunteer work in her later life at Banner Good Sam and Baptist Hospital in Phoenix for over 20 years. She also volunteered for C.A.R.E.S. Carol enjoyed visiting with people and always put a smile on their faces before she left their bed side.
She was always friendly to those she met. She enjoyed her coffee time for years at Smitty's Restaurant with all she met there.
A graveside service will be held at West Resthaven Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, Az. at 10:00 a.m. February 14, 2015. Pastor Sarah Stadler-Ammon from Grace Lutheran Church will preside over the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks to make donations in Carols name to Grace Lutheran Church, 1124 N. 3rd Street, Phoenix AZ 85004 or to the Arizona Humane Society.
