Bruce Frederick Salo

Bruce Frederick Salo, age 71, of Phoenix, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born November 26, 1947 to the late Reino and Olga (Hietalahti) Salo in Detroit, MI. Bruce graduated from Michigan State University and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for the Social Security Administration for more than 35 years. He enjoyed being involved in the Maricopa Live Steamer's club, the Finish Spitz club, and St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Bruce was a creature of habit and he frequented the 40th Street Café for the last 20 years or more. They treated him as family. Bruce is survived by his two loving siblings, Lawrence K. Salo of Sierra Vista, AZ and Carol Lamer of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews, and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law. A remembrance service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society wherever you live, animals were important to Bruce.
