Bill Robert Dunbar

Bill Robert Dunbar of Phoenix, Arizona passed away at home on February 17, 2016. He was born on March 16, 1941 in Centralia, Illinois and grew up in Annapolis and Pasadena , Maryland. His parents, both deceased, were Robert Arthur Dunbar and Faye Powers Dunbar of Sun City, AZ. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Sue Krausser, a son, James Robert Dunbar, and a grandson, Ryon Wayne Towns. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a graduate of Arizona State University. A long time Rotarian and active donor of his time to the community, he worked for AT& T for 15 years and was a small business owner for 33 years. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Norris Dunbar, a daughter, Faye Elizabeth Dunbar, grandsons, Robert, Andrew and Connor, and great-grandsons, Julian and Alex. Bill was known for his sense of humor, his outgoing personality, and his love for cooking. A Memorial Service will be held on February 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E.
