Bennie C. Robinson, Jr. leaves to mourn his wife, Hazel, son David, sister, Iris and his grandchildren, Miles, Mayah, and Morgan.
In addition to being a devoted and caring husband, father, brother and uncle, he was an extraordinarily accomplished professional and gifted educator. Counted among his many achievements, he earned a PhD from the University of Denver, an MSW from Indiana University and a BA from Roosevelt University in Chicago. In addition, he had an impressive history of work. Robinson was the former Director of Community Programming for FIBCO Family Services Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona. He was also a Community Affiliate with the Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center at Arizona State University, and he taught at the Arizona State University, College of Public Programs, School of Social Work. Robinson’s professional record is too lengthy to fully recount here, but most recently, the Zion Institute, a Phoenix social service agency where Robinson served as consultant and strategist, will honor his memory by naming their future library and learning center in his name.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to a charity or cause of your choosing in Dr. Robinson’s name.
