Barbara Medina, 55 of Phoenix passed away on October 2, 2014. They say "only the good die young". This could not be more true. Barbara Medina was a wonderful person and exuded goodness. She lived a selfless life, running errands for her parents, babysitting, and lending dollars she never really had. She was always there. The fall was her favorite time of year, when the temperatures started to cool, the leaves started to change and the holidays were around the corner. She loved Christmas, movies, Charlie Brown, the Coca Cola polar bear, and mostly finding that special gift for her family and friends, however, one of her favorite things was the Christmas music! Hearing Christmas music in April was not an uncommon thing in her home and will remind us of her forever. Most of all, she will be remembered for being a wonderful mother, devoting her life to taking care of her children, even after they were no longer children. This was her greatest achievement and her deepest love in life. Barbara will always live on in the hearts and lives of her family, friends, and all of her children. WE LOVE YOU MOM & we will take you with us FOREVER.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Garcia. She is survived by her parents Vera and Edward Garcia; her brothers, Eddie Garcia, Johnny Garcia, and Mark Garcia; her children Gina Benninger (Jon), Richard Medina, Freddie Medina, Chris Medina, Lisa Gainer (Andrew), and Brianna Medina, and 9 grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday October 25, 2014 at AL Moore Grimshaw Mortuary. A reception will follow.
