Andrew David Gleason

He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Kerr); his children William and Danielle; his parents Dennis and Ruthann; and his older brother, Tim.

Drew was born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, on August 11, 1974. He graduated from Addison Trail High School in 1992. He continued his education at The University of Illinois. Upon graduating in 1996, he entered the graduate program for Urban Planning and Design. Realizing that he could put this knowledge to work as an attorney, he left the program and entered law school at Chicago Kent in 1997. In the fall of 1998, he transferred to George Washington University, where is graduated with honors in May of 2000. He accepted a job with the firm of Coolidge, Wall, Womsley, and Lombard in Dayton, Ohio.

On August 12, 2000, Drew married Katherine Marie Kerr in Dayton, Ohio. They resided in Ohio until 2005, when a new job opportunity brought them to the Phoenix area. After settling in Phoenix, Drew and Katherine welcomed Danielle in 2006, and William in 2009.

During Drew’s 20 year legal career, he worked in a number of areas related to zoning and municipal law, as well as real estate and banking. One of his proudest moments was being hired as a partner at Quarles & Brady in March of 2018.

Drew loved to travel, whether it was a week in Hawaii, or a weekend in Tucson. Some of his favorite adventures including zip-lining in St. Lucia, watching Danielle learn to surf in Oahu, and finding great local places to eat wherever he happened to be. He also enjoyed all his children’s activities, from swim meets, to baseball games and gymnastics meets, to choir performances.

Drew was very proud of the wonderful relationship he shared with his parents, as well as his brother. The closeness of their family was a model for his own.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10, as 11:00 am, at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Drew’s preferred charity: Child Help.
