Alan was born December 21st, 1942 in Deer River Minnesota. He survived many cold winters in Minnesota before joining the Navy after High School. He returned to Minnesota in July of 1962 to marry Kathleen Larson. Together they had three children, Mark Alan, Jon Paul and Jessica Lynn. In 1989 Alan married Beverly Hudson and gained a Daughter in Michele and a Son in Bob. Alan and Beverly enjoyed over 35 years together.
Alan earned a degree in mathematics from the University of Minnesota and went to work in the burgeoning semi-conductor industry. Working for such companies as Honeywell and Motorola where he spent the greater part of his career. He got on the forefront of the Six Sigma quality management system wave during his time with Motorola and he literally wrote the book on Six Sigma, only one copy available on Amazon where it received 4 1/2 stars. He retired early to help Beverly take care of Matthew when Michele returned to work part time. He said it was his most rewarding and enjoyable job of all.
Along with total quality systems, Alan had a passion for the outdoors. Whether it was as a Scout Master for Jon's troop, a volunteer for Matthew and Nicholas' Scouting events, hiking alone or with Beverly for 50 miles, he loved the Arizona outdoors so much. He seemed to know the Superstition Mountains and the Tonto National Forest like the back of his hand.
Alan is preceded in death by his father Jerome Larson, mother Myrtle Larson, daughter Jessica Larson, and his wife Beverly Larson. He is survived by his daughter Michele Moreau, sons Mark and Jon Larson, and son Bob Hudson. And grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas(Michele), Hannah, Natalie(Jon), and Aaron, Anneliese(Mark).
Alan was the best father and grandfather with a kind and loving heart. He never failed to remind us all to "Be safe".
He will be missed.
