"Happy" as he was affectionately known was born in Safford, Arizona on October 28,1981 to Rebecca D. Montoya and Henry Garcia. He will always be remembered for the many achievements he was able to reach, including being a volunteer assistant for Abel House in Phoenix, Arizona.
He attended school in Safford, Arizona and as a young boy he became an Altar Boy for St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He led the precession entering the church as he carried the cross for his Grandfather's Cruz Valenzuela funeral.
He leaves behind his life partner Samantha Gonzalez of Phoenix, Arizona, three brothers, Eric Montoya of Tucson, Frankie Montoya also of Tucson and Norman Thomas of Phoenix, Arizona. Two sister, Jessica Martin of Phoenix and Monica Medrano also of Phoenix, Arizona. Uncles Stanley Chavez of Casa Grande, Arizona and Joe Ramirez of Tucson, Arizona. Aunts Jeannette Nolasco (Tucson) and Paula and Rosie Garcia (Safford). Other family survivors include his closest cousin Stevie Garcia as wella as one niece, two nephews and numerous cousins. He also leaves behind his best friends Ashley "Roxie" Granillo and Adrianna Granillo and many other dear friends he always considered his brothers and sisters. Of course also Marissa Padilla the he often would refer to her, with great affection and humor as his caretaker, and his Chihuahua Weddo. Last but not least his beloved Dallas Cowboys, "We Dem Boys".
He was preceded in death by his nana Alicia Valenzuela, tatas Cruz Valenzuela and Timoteo Montoya, Cousin Brian D, Nolasco and his first two Chihuahuas Princess and Cinamon.
