Mr. Pittman was born July 21, 1949 in Eufaula, Alabama, son of the late Edwin and Magalene Johnson Pittman. He was retired from the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era and was retired from Harvey Lumber Company. He was an avid Alabama football fan, loved the Braves, wrestling, the mountains and his dogs. He was a skilled cabinet maker and was very family oriented.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Pittman; his grandmother, Laura Frances Pittman; and his nephew, Donnie Knotts.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Shirley Pittman; children, Shawn Pittman, Kabrina Pittman (Hiram), and Damien Pittman (Crystal); sister, Angenell Pittman; grandchildren, Ashleigh Murray, Dakota Pittman, Ryan Pittman, Devin Pittman, Dylan Pittman, Camren Pittman, MacKenzie and Damien Pittman, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Emii-Grace and Lachlann.
In keeping with the efforts to assure the safety and health of our community during the current virus pandemic, the family will hold a private service at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL and burial with military honors officiated by Pastor Nathan Diller.
