Pete Harrison

Pete Harrison, 78 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13 at 3:00 P.M.EST in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. A private burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Harrison was born in Coffee County, Alabama on March 11, 1934, son of the late Tweed B. Harrison and Samantha Davis Harrison. He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills with 44 years of service, was a 40 year member of the Wilson Williams Masonic Lodge and was baptist by faith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Martin, Verse Henderson, Ruby "Sis" Hanks Thompson and one brother, Cap Harrison.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Alma Harrison, children, Sandra Stewart and husband Mike, Deborah Einig and husband Chet, Danny Harrison and wife Michele, Shirley Watson and husband, Billy Ray, six grandchildren, Chad Stewart, Jennifer Ray, Stephen Tarver, Jessica Watson, Jonathan Jernigan, Michelle Stewart, three great grandchildren, Landon Ray, Berkleigh Ray, Garrett Greeson, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Harrison was an avid gardener who loved his family and pets. He worked hard to provide for his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
