Peggy Dianne McDaniel, age 84 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at her home. Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 1, 2024 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service. A private interment will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. McDaniel was born October 17, 1939 in Columbus, Georgia; daughter of the late Frank Louis Thompson and Sarah Harrell Thompson. She had several occupations, but she mostly enjoyed driving the school bus for Ladonia Elementary School and Smiths Station School. She was a member of Crawford Road Baptist Church where she enjoyed her Sunday School Class and singing in the choir. She was an endless artist who loved to write poetry, paint, crochet, cook, sing, gardening and was a wonderful caregiver.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gary McDaniel and her daughter, Robin Davis.
Survivors include her daughter, Jana Rhey Stringfellow, sons, Richard Jeffrey McDaniel, Gary Scott McDaniel and wife, Sharon Nix McDaniel and was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
