Mildred Marie Lewis

June 10, 1942 – June 10, 2024

Mildred “Marie” Lewis, 82, of ­­Phenix City, AL, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Columbus Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 10, 1942, in Thomaston, GA, the daughter of the late Walter Frank Knowles and Mildred “Millie” Knowles Sanders.

Marie was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother (“Nenny”) to her family. She is survived by her brother, William Frank Knowles of Phenix City, AL; four children: Theresa Lewis McCain (Tom) of Phenix City, AL, Candy Lewis Miles of Phenix City, AL, Randy Lewis (Linda) of Phenix City, AL, and Danny Lewis (Libby) of Hamilton, GA; ten grandchildren; Mathew Leonard, Christopher McCain, Destiny Miles, Holly King, Kimberly Daniel, Jenna Hall, Miranda Lewis, Summer Scurry, Brand and Thomas Lewis; and fourteen great-grandchildren; along with extended family members, and longtime friends.

She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. She lived a life filled with compassion and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be treasured by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 14, 2024 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL.
