Mary Joyce Jones

Visitation for family and friends for Mary will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A celebration of life funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be her sons, grandsons and grandson-in-law.

Mary was born April 30, 1950 in Greensboro, Alabama; daughter of the late Rufus Jackson Jones and Ruby Loyal Pennington. She was retired as the lunchroom manager at Smiths Station South and was a member of Pierce Chapel Assembly of God Church in Phenix City.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Jones and Joe Jones; two sisters, Mattie Sue Jones Pope and infant Norma Alice Jones.

Survivors include her sons, Steven Sanders (Julie), Jerry Sanders (Tonya), Chad Sanders (Elizabeth), daughter, Rhonda Sapp; sisters, Carolyn Westbrook, Lenette Edwards, Terri Yelverton (Melvin), brothers R.J. "Red" Jones, Jimmy Jones 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
