Lucy was a graduate of Dadeville High School and a member of the class of 1959. After high school, Lucy moved to Phenix City, Alabama and lived with her aunt, Mrs. Guy Jones. Lucy became an employee of Swift Textiles in 1964, where she had a long career as Human Resource Manager until the plant closed in 2007.
Lucy married Malvyn Jones in 1963 and she and Malvyn were members of Lakewood Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Malvyn Jones, Jr. Though not blessed with children of their own, she is survived by she and Malvyn's niece and nephew, Tammy Jones Reynolds and Chad Jason Jones. She is also survived by numerous friends and relatives of Mr. & Mrs. Guy Jones family in Dadeville and Phenix City and the Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Patterson family of Dadeville.
Lucy was loved and admired by countless friends and co-workers from the Swift Textile family.
The family of Lucy Ann would like to express their deepest respect and appreciation to her tireless and patient caregivers for the past 12 months. Thank you Miss Debbie, Miss Dorothy, Miss Carolyn, Miss Minnie and Miss Aretha. Your kindness allowed her to stay at home and watch her "kitty babies" on her porch, bring joy to her life.
Flowers will be appreciated or donations to the Russell County Animal Shelter in memory of Lucy.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST, Friday, October 4, 2024 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 US-431, Phenix City, Alabama 36868. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 US-431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.
