Linda Carolyn Newman

A visitation for family and friends for Carolyn will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Pastor Marvin Minton will officiate.

Carolyn was born March 8, 1951 in Columbus, Georgia; daughter of the late John C. and Nell O'Steen. She was retired from Synovus and was a member of Crawford Road Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Newman, daughter, Linda Newman and her brother, Allen O'Steen.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristie Goodson and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Tyler Goodson and Dalton Goodson; sister, Cindy McCall and husband, Glen; brothers, Steve O'Steen and wife, Jane, Grady Singletary and wife, Phyllis; sister in law Lisa O'Steen; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Tyler Goodson, Dalton Goodson, Jason McCall, Johnny Goodson, Danny Kirkland, and Zane McAnulty

Carolyn lived a simple life and was committed to her family and her church family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
