David was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama, of which, he still resides.
He attended central high school
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and drove them to school daily. He later began to race motorcycles on dirt tracks and graduated through the years to big time race with contract sponsors on tracks like Talladega, AL. superspeedway. Years later, he and his dad became involved in raising and breeding fine quarter horses along with training and boarding at the Jo-Dee Ranch!
David was always interested in the history of native Americans, their lifestyle, their weaponry and survival tactics because of his grandfather’s American Indian heritage which included their self-defense.
Additionally, he studied and trained numerous forms of self-defense and became proficient in it as well as a master in weaponry and a master marksman.
The movie industry discovered a need for someone with his skills and reached out to him which created a bevy of movies that David worked on as a technical advisor and stuntman as a result of those self-defense and weaponry skills.
He was technical advisor on the movie "Last of the Mohicans" and trained Daniel Day Lewis on his farm in Pittsview, AL for many months in preparation for the movie. Over the years he trained many other celebrities as well as working on many movie sets as an advisor and stunt man. He worked with Steven Seagal, Robert Duvall, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Douglas, Kevin Costner among many more. He took some hard hits over the years and after surgery and physical therapies, he decided it might be time to retire his stunt work and head home.
Later, his career seemed to take an interest in community activity and work. his background directed him toward law enforcement with Russell county, AL sheriff’s dept. .Where he could continue to use his skills, techniques and wisdom keeping his community safe. In 2017 he retired in investigations with the dept. and began enjoying every day with no specific agenda!
He was deeply loved by his family and will be missed every day by his family and friends!
