James Rafus Gann

1SGT James Rafus Gann US Army Retired, 74 of Ft. Mitchell, AL died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, AL. Funeral service with military honors will be held Friday , September 27, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby, 3770 Hwy 431/280 W, Phenix City, AL with burial to follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 11:30 am until 12:30 am at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mr. Gann was born in Itawamba County, Mississippi December 6, 1938. He is the son of the late Howard and Ola Mae Kidd Gann. He was retired from the U.S. Army with more than 26 years of service. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby G. Gann and his sister, Martha Graham.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ena Kent Gann, children, Deborah David and husband Danny, James Rodney Gann and friend Bridget Wilkinson all of Ft. Mitchell, AL, grandchildren, Jonathan David and wife Alice of Phenix City, AL, Howard Gann of Chatsworth, GA, Jacob Gann of Ft. Mitchell, AL, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
