Frances Murphy Whaley

Frances Murphy Whaley, 74 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431N/280W, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Jack Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00am until 11:00am prior to the service.

Mrs. Whaley was born March 12, 1939 in Donaldsonville, Georgia; daughter of the late William Dallas Murphy, Sr. and Ruth Miller Murphy. She was retired from Phenix Regional Home Health and was pentecostal by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Whaley, daughter Becky Whaley and brother, William Dallas Murphy, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Stroud and husband Rex of Salem, AL, her grandchildren, Danny Stroud and wife Misty of Salem, AL, Dana Kennedy and husband Shaun of Smiths Station, AL, Liberty Baldwin and husband Joseph of Phenix City, AL, Nichole Brown of Columbus, GA, great grandchildren, Magen, Delilah, Jayden, Payton, Justice, Jeremiah, brother, Douglas Murphy of Albuquerque, NM, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
