Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. EST on Friday, February 3rd in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL with Pastor Robert Goodman of Summerville Baptist Church officiating. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 2:00 P.M.
Ms. Thompson was born December 1, 1930 in Columbus, Georgia; daughter of the late Henry Hubert Screws and Annie Lou Dixon Screws. She was married to the late Charles W. Thompson for 31 years. During her career she was secretary for an attorney, worked in advertising for the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer and worked in the marketing department at W.C. Bradley. Ms. Thompson attended both North Phenix Baptist Church and Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL.
Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents as well as four sisters, Madelyn, Jean, Betty, Hilda and one grandchild, Ben Thompson.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Dan) W. Thompson, MD (Linda), Montevallo, AL and David M. Thompson (Christin), Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Anna Thompson, Montevallo, AL, Ashley Anglin (Joey), Fortson, GA, Aleck Thompson, Box Springs, GA and Nicholas Thompson, Phenix City, AL; one great-grandchild, Madison Anglin, Fortson, GA and several nieces and nephews.
