Dennis Franklin Malaney, 68 of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. June 8, 2021 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Pastor Rusty Bowden officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Malaney was born May 29, 1953 in Durant, Oklahoma; son of the late Dale Franklin Malaney and Barbara Lucille Duke.
Dennis served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the VFW and was a musician with the "Last Rodeo Band".
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dwana Farrell, brothers, Jerry Dale Malaney, Cecil Malaney and his granddaughter, Rylee Rae Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Malaney, son, Matt Malaney, daughter, Charley Malaney and her fiance,' Gavin Smith and son, Landin Smith, Michael Rathel, his wife, Tasha Rathel and children, Madison Rathel, Kayden Rathel, Julian Rathel, Blessing Rathel and Jaiden Hannan; sisters, Willene Barkley, Barbara Cole, Treba Malaney. He is also survived by his father figure, Grover Townsend and wife, Jean, Matt and Charley's mother, Kathy Malaney and her husband, Neal Foster, several other extended family and friends.
