Charles Paul Ogle, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024, at the age of 79, surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Hospice at Bethany House in Auburn, AL, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Charles was born on August 6, 1944, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Paul and Grace Ogle. He grew up in Columbus, GA, and graduated from Jordan High School in Columbus in 1962.
Charles was a well-kept man who took great pride in his appearance. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with the Dixie Seniors. He loved music, dancing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Charles was always known for his good humor and timely jokes, and his favorite days were spent manning the grill while rooting for the Bulldogs.
Charles remarried the love of his life, Wendy Amerson Ogle, on April 6, 2001, in Phenix City, AL. Together, they spent their days loving, laughing, and living life to the fullest. They shared a passion for dance, and their favorite dates were spent cutting a rug with the Bi-City Boppers. They also loved taking yearly trips to the beach and mountains, where they would bask in the beauty of nature and each other's company.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Amerson Ogle; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Mark Gram; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Ogle and Lark Floresca-Ogle; four grandchildren, Will, Sarah Bates, Mars, and Phoenix; sister, Janie Bailey (Harold); brother, Donald Ogle (Cheryl); brother, Ronnie Ogle (Kay); and several nieces and nephews. His family was his greatest treasure, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 1:30pm in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix CIty, AL followed by a 2:00 PM private graveside funeral service at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
