Billy Cook, age 68, resident of Seale, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 1, 2019. Funeral services are scheduled at Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, Alabama on Monday, February 4, 2019, 1 p.m. with Reverend Ritchie Ashburn officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 12 noon till 1 p.m.
Mr. Cook, son of the late James Cook and Verna Mae Moates Cook, was born February 23, 1950 in Clopton, Alabama. He was self employed, owned and operated Cook Backhoe for several years. Mr. Cook was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country honorably as a Tank Commander and Airborne Ranger. He was a faithful member of Silver Run Baptist Church for over 25 years.
Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a son, Chris Cook; one sister; and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sheila Cook of Seale, Alabama; son, Andy Cook and his wife Emily of Phenix City, Alabama; sister, Ruby Key of Dothan, Alabama; grandson, Jack Cook of Phenix City, Alabama; sister-in-law and loving caretakers, Tammy Sutton and her husband Shon of Seale, Alabama; many other relatives and friends.
