Betty May Fernandez, 56 of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Lee Halvorson officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fernandez was born July 8, 1962 in Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter of the late William Wallace Baines and Mary Elizabeth Britt Baines. She was an office manager for construction companies and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Juan Luis Fernandez, sons, George Ratley, John Fernandez and wife Amanda all of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Taylor Marie Ratley, Emma Leigh Ratley, Patrick Miller and John John Fernandez; she is also survived by her PaPa, James Johnson of Spring Lake, NC, sister, Debbie Parker of Elizabethtown, NC, close relative and friend, Fay Capps of Phenix City, AL, five siblings and many other close relatives and friends.
