San Juana Pena

Mrs. Pena was born on January 14, 1946. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, sister and confidant to many. She started the family fruit business (Peña’s Fruit Stand) on the side of the road in a car and made into a thriving business for 10 yrs.

She enjoyed playing bingo with family and friends, traveling and most of all going to casinos with her husband.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dionicio and Juana Barrientos; her husband Eduviges Peña, her infant son Eduardo Peña and by her siblings Ricardo Barrientos, Raul Barrientos and Pilar Cardona.

She is survived by her six children Maria Elena (Leopoldo) Reyes, Norma Ruth (Kris) Wilfong, Miguel (Beatriz) Peña, Oscar (Belinda) Peña, Aracely (Eligio Jr) Ramirez and Eduviges Peña IV (Jennifer Esquivel); grandchildren Oscar Peña Jr, Jennette Marie Wilfong, Edward Peña, Joaquin Eduviges Wilfong, Julian Stanley Wilfong, Jaclyn Kris Wilfong, Angelica Dawn (Jacob) Santiago, Hiram Peña, Alexa Brooke Peña, Sebastian Edu Peña, Erik Peña, Stephanie Peña, Karen Peña, Joseph John Reyes, Christopher James Reyes, David Andrew Reyes and Samarah Lynette Peña, great-granddaughter Jade Reyes. Her brothers Dionicio Barrientos Jr (San Juana). and Jacinto Barrientos. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 8:30 am at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Funeral service will start at 9:30 am. Burial of ashes will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
