Born in McAllen, he was a lifetime resident of Edinburg. Roberto married the love of his life, Emilia and together they had three beautiful children. Mr. Cano was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He dedicated his life to loving and caring for his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hosting BBQ's, listening to music, and carpentry. Mr. Cano was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, western movies, and wrestling matches. His favorite days were ones where the entire family would coalesce in one place and share laughs, food, and appreciation for each other. His wise words, smile, and infamous thumbs up sign are going to be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Roberto was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron Omar Corpos, his parents, Francisco and Angelita Cano, and two siblings, Irma Garza and Oscar Cano.
Mr. Cano is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Emilia R. Cano, his three children, Juan (Dana) Cano, Roel Cano, Cynthia (Jay) Corpos, six grandchildren, Jonathan, Alyssa, Lidya, John, Brianna, Roel Jr., and a great-granddaughter, Kaeli; His five siblings, Quirino (Laly) Cano, Gilberto Cano, Angelita De Leon, Maria (Hector) Villarreal, and Rigoberto Cano, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 11pm, with a 7pm rosary on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. The catholic mass will be held at 10am, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at St. Joseph the Worker, San Carlos, Texas 78542. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX 78577.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
