SAN JUAN-Maria Gloria Garza, 77, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at McAllen Rio Grande Regional Hospital. She was born to Miguel Pena and Francisca Gonzalez on June 3, 1941 in Mexico. She is now reunited with her parents, Miguel and Francisca Pena; her brothers, Miguel Pena Jr, Manuel Pena, Marciano Pena and her sisters, Margarita Benitez, and Melida Ramirez.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 60 years, Humberto Garza Cortez of San Juan; her children, Humberto Garza, Jr. of San Juan, Texas, Jerry Garza of Torrington, Wyoming and Leticia Garcia of Visalia, CA and granddaughter Janet Newman Garza whom she raised as a daughter. She will also be greatly missed by her remaining grandchildren, Marcilla Johnson, Pedro Garza, Daniel Garcia, Meagan Garza, Samantha Garza, Shanna Vargas, Andres Garcia and sisters, Emma Mora, Amparo Jimenez, Minerva Pena and Mireya Gutierrez.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Palm Valley Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity in Pharr.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr.
Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral arrangements and services are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley of Pharr.
