Julia Ponce, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 15, 2025 at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, love, and cherished memories. She was known for her boundless energy, her contagious laughter, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. Julia will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born to Apolinar Morales and Marcela Salazar, Julia was preceded in death by her parents, but her memory will continue to live on through her children and their families. She is survived by her beloved children: Claudia Ponce, Marcial H. Ponce, and Luis E. Ponce; her son-in-law, Lorenzo Rodriguez III; and her daughters-in-law, Beatriz Ponce and Criselda Ponce. Her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart, will remember her fondly: Ashley N. Ponce, Dominique B. Ponce, Luis E. Ponce Jr., Karla D. Ponce, Marcial H. Ponce Jr., Josue A. Ponce, Romeo A. Ponce, and Camille Rodriguez.
Julia was a woman of many passions. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—crafting, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren will always treasure the memories of her cooking, especially when she made their favorite treats—bacon and tater tots. She loved creating beautiful things with her hands, often making crosses with shells or crafting jewelry. Her heart was as big as her creativity, and she delighted in decorating for Christmas along with her favorite flower, the poinsettia, filling her home with warmth and beauty.
An avid fan of Hallmark movies and trips to Buc-ee’s, Julia enjoyed the little things that made life special. She also adored the beach and took great pleasure in road trips, creating countless memories with her family along the way. Whether gardening, dancing, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee in the morning or evening, Julia lived her life with joy and enthusiasm. She was known to always be dancing, the life of every party, and capturing precious moments with her camera, making sure to preserve the smiles of her loved ones.
Julia’s love for her family knew no bounds, and she took great pride in spoiling her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and the scent of fresh coffee. She was the glue that held her family together, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind.
A visitation for Julia will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10:00 am followed by a burial at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX 78577.
Julia’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family, and she will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
