Jovita Pina, born on April 24, 1953, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children on May 31, 2024, at the age of 71. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, caring grandmother, cherished aunt and dear friend.
Jovita has a wonderful marriage of 45 years to husband Joaquin Pina Cliville. Jovita taught her children the joys of cooking and baking, imparting skills that spanned from crafting delicious pozole to baking indulgent cakes for special occasions like family birthdays, quinceañeras and weddings. Thanksgiving was particularly special, marking a significant celebration close to her husband Joaquin's birthday. Jovita’s dedication to family traditions shone during Thanksgiving feast making it particularly special for all the family. She was a hard working woman and made a second work family at Mcallen Radiator Service where she worked for more than 35 years as a bookkeeper. She was proud of her skills and dedication to her job and employer. She always spoke her mind and was known for her straightforward and loving nature. She worked for what she wanted and believed in, especially when it came to her family. Jovita's legacy of love, strength, and tradition will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Her memories will forever be cherished.
She is survived with deep sorrow by her husband, Joaquin Pina Cliville; Elizabeth (Moises) Pina, Joaquin (Debbie) Pina Jr., Jeronimo (Karina) Pina; five grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, Ryan, Scarlett, Elias; seven siblings, Rosie Trevino, Lucy Leos, Benito Corona, Martin Corona, Melecio Corona, Dora Corona, Matthew Corona; many more family and friends.
Jovita is preceded in death by her parents, Bernabe and Maria Trinidad Corona; four siblings, Benny Corona, Victor Bonilla, Ramiro De La Cruz, Reyes De La Cruz.
A viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 5pm to 10pm with a prayer service 7pm. Services will continue Thursday, June 6, 2024 with a funeral service at 10am with burial to follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens at 11am.
