Francisca Tovar, a luminary of love and fortitude, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on October 4, 1948, her journey through life was marked by unwavering resilience, a deep-seated faith, and an immense capacity for love.
Francisca's heart was ever merged with that of her beloved husband. Together, they shared a life rich in simple joys and mutual devotion, finding contentment in the tranquility of fishing, the companionship of card games, and the shared appreciation of music, notably during his performances in the church choir. Her role as his steadfast caregiver until his last breath exemplified her selfless nature and undying love. A woman of many passions, Francisca's love for nature was evident in her affection for Corona de Cristo flowers and her diligent care of her garden. Her work ethic was unparalleled, and she cherished the moments spent picking up her grandchildren, always ensuring to have their favorite snacks ready. Francisca's enthusiasm for science fiction, particularly for series like Lost in Space and Star Trek, reflected her love for adventure beyond the bounds of earth. She instilled in her children the virtues of perseverance, resilience, and strength, encouraging them to face life’s challenges with courage and to always rise after a fall. Her life lessons were imbued with humor, wisdom, and the importance of family and faith. Her feisty nature, coupled with a loving and nurturing heart, made her a central figure in the lives of those she touched. A devout Catholic, her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life’s trials and tribulations, including her formidable battle against cancer. She faced this challenge as she did all others, with grace and fortitude, never allowing it to dampen her spirit. Francisca's legacy is one of indomitable spirit, love, and faith. Her life was a testament to the power of never giving up, regardless of the obstacles faced. She leaves behind a family with strength, a garden that mirrors her love for life, and memories that will forever serve as beacons of her enduring love and resilience.
Survived with deep sorrow by her three children, Noe (Maria Olga) Tovar Jr., Sandra Tovar (James M) Smith, Marcos Antonio (Amanda) Tovar; three sisters, Gloria (+ Roger Mann) Espinosa, Norma (William) Muse, Nora( + Reynaldo M.) Rodriguez; sixteen grandkids, three great-grandkids; many more family and friends.
Francisca is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Noe Tovar; her son, David Tovar; her parents, Raul and Eloisa Olvera; and her sister, Ana Maria Baughman.
A viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 5pm to 10pm with a rosary at 7pm. Services will continue Friday, April 19, 2024 with a funeral mass at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church followed by burial at 11am at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens.
