I am so beyond grateful and blessed to have gotten to know you during our time in nursing school. I will never forget our walks to subway together during clinical or our conspiracy theory discussions in skills lab. You were the kindest and most selfless person I have ever met. You were always smiling and laughing and always had something good to say about every single person you came across. My heart breaks writing this, as I never thought that a time like this would come. I miss you so much already and hope you’re eating tons of Chick Fil A up in heaven. I know now that we all have a guardian angel watching over us and all our patients. Until next time my friend.

Erik,
Thank you for being the person to sit with me during lunch and let me talk your ear off about how horrible of a day I was having during my preceptor shift. Thank you for always giving me advice when I needed it and for always being there for me and for others as well. Thank you for always calling me out and for seeing the better in me. This world won’t be the same without you. You were such a kind soul and your smile and encouraging energy was always so contagious. I am so blessed nursing school was the reason I was able to meet someone as amazing as you. You are already missed so so much.

Erik was one of a kind. He was  kind hearted, humble, and someone with the sweetest soul. When I first met him, we would always go back and forth about where we were from. I would make fun of him for going to Labelle high school and he’d really come at me for going to Immokalee. We both would talk about our family being from Edinburg, TX and Nuevo León. When he talked about his family, he did so with so much love and admiration. For the time that I got know Erik in nursing school, I noticed he lived life so selfless. I just know that Erik would have made the most amazing nurse. To his parents, meeting your son was truly a blessing. My condolences and prayers are with you and your entire family. Erik was loved by so many and will truly be missed.

I’ve been staring at this picture and looking at an empty box to type this message for days. I don’t know where to start, there’s so much to say. Erik, I thank God for every second I was fortunate enough to be alongside you. I thank him for the moments we spent together from playing games to our conversations about accomplishing goals. You were so caring and had a big heart man, you would tell me that you wanted to go back to Texas to be with your grandparents and live your dreams there. Thank you for your friendship and your trust and allowing me to be with you and your family, forever fortunate that I was able to spend Christmas with you and your brother, I’ll never forget these days and these memories. I love you man 🤍

Erik, together we all learned so much. You were like a brother to me. I struggle with the loss of you on this earth but I know you are watching over all of us. Your spirit told me to “keep going” yesterday and it filled me up with gratitude that I got to be your friend. Your kindness, gratitude, empathy, and friendship emanated each day we were together. Your light is going to shine forever and guide each of us in our practice and lives. Love you and I’ll keep talking to you everyday.

You are one of our Best. Your smile, friendship, can-do attitude, and caring for others made you exceptionally smart and personable. We love you, and you will always stay in our memory. I am the program director for Nova Southeastern University ACON, Fort Myers Campus.  I taught Erik in several classes.  He was a shining light and inspiration to his classmates, who loved him.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  We are all heartbroken.

I am so sorry for your loss. Eric was one of my nursing students at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Myers. He was a caring, good humored, and happy person that will be greatly missed. You can be proud of the young man he was.

The Sun won’t ever shine the same without your beautiful smile, positive energy, and selfless nature, Erik. Words can’t properly express how grateful I am to have known you, and to have had you as one of my closest friends throughout nursing school. You always lit up every room you walked into with that radiant smile and your contagious laugh. You were of the most genuine friends I have ever had with a heart of gold. To say I will miss you each and every day is an understatement. You made this world a much better place in every single way. I at least hope that the girls and I can make you proud down here as nurses. I will work hard each and every day to emulate the mindset and attitude of the best nurse I have ever known- you. to my handsome sweet brother, there are far too many memories of you and us all that will forever live in my heart. i remember months back telling you for the first time you were going to be an uncle, not knowing how you’d react or what you’d say. shockingly you were the only one who supported the most with your big heart and kind words of advice; you were so excited to become a tio!🥹 the world left us in disbelief, but we know you’re okay and we know you’re now our sweet angel watching and protecting us daily♥️ we miss you so much and love you more than words can explain… till next time bro🫂

There are many memories that I hold dearly in my heart with Erik. I’m blessed to have had such an amazing friend in my life, he had such a beautiful soul and heart and never failed to make those around him smile and feel loved. Erik was a God fearing man and my favorite conversations with him were always about the bible and wonder of what our purpose here on earth is according to God. A lot of the time we also spoke about conspiracies as well haha. Man will I miss this guy…his smile, laugh, hugs, and our conversations. Eriksito I know you’re in heaven in our Gods loving arms, until we meet again amigo, I love you forever🤍. Familia Salinas we are praying for you all in these difficult times, and are sending many hugs and all of our love. As my nephew, Erik was always highly encouraged to pursue a degree after high school. I will never forget the day he called me worried about him “not knowing what to do with his life”….although he had ideas…one of them being nursing. Being biased towards the nursing world, I said “that’s great, let’s do this, don’t think twice.” Go, go, go. Let’s look at the classes you need, complete them, and don’t cut your self short and apply to more than one school. Erik responds, “Tia you’re crazy.”  We laughed but he loved the enthusiasm. Erick was one of the most kind, loving,caring young man that came to our house often. Joshua, Maranda, and Erick did a lot together and they are so sad. He did so good completing school and I don't know why God decided to take him so early. He loved and talked of his family often especially his mom.  I pray God gives y'all the strength to endure life without him.
Be proud y'all raised an amazing young man who had so much to accomplish and was like a angel in our life and he will be missed greatly.
