Belma Cantu, age 70, of San Juan, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025. A beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Belma will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
Belma spent her life rooted in the values of love, kindness, and service to others. She had a deep love for her family and found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her siblings, nieces, and nephews. Known for always lending a helping hand, Belma was the one you could count on, no matter the time or circumstance.
She had a passion for cooking and took great pride in preparing meals that brought everyone together. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Belma cheered on her team with unwavering loyalty, win or lose. She also enjoyed spending time watching YouTube and catching up on her favorite shows. Her Sundays were sacred—she never missed a televised Sunday Mass, a testament to the strong Catholic faith that guided her life.
Belma is survived by her loving siblings: Berta Quijada, Biola Contreras, Belinda Mendoza, Marivel Cantu, Raquel Jimenez, Rosalio Cantu, Roel Cantu, Rene Cantu, and Raul Cantu. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Anastacia Cantu, and her brothers Ramiro Cantu, Reynaldo Cantu, and Rolando Cantu.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 122 W Hawk Ave, Pharr, TX 78577. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens.
Belma Cantu's love, laughter, and legacy of compassion will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
