Armando Rangel, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in Pharr. Armando was born June 16, 1952 in Weslaco to Carmelo and Angela Rangel.
Armando was a beloved husband and father who always had a smile on and loved his morning coffee, black with no sugar. He was known as ‘El Hijo de Angelita' and had an unrelenting passion for music. Armando began his career as a musician with Grupo Sangre Joven and then with Super Estrella from Houston, Texas for more than 10 years. He also recorded with Mexican bands such as Mister Chivo, Liberacion, and El Pega Pega.
He dedicated over 30 years working as a radio announcer for KGVT 98.5 in Harlingen and McAllen and Recuerdo KBTQ 96.1 in McAllen. His hobbies also included listening to music, and watching movies, especially comedies. Armando’s unique personality and amazing charisma will be forever remembered and greatly missed.
Armando is survived by her wife, Guadalupe Rangel; daughter Mandy Rangel; three granddaughters, Sophia, Samantha and Sabrina, as well as his sister Teresa Rangel.

A visitation for Armando will be held Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, Chapel of Remembrance with a rosary recited on Sunday at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 29, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley with interment to follow at 1:00 PM at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley of Pharr, Texas.
