William C. Jernigan was born on October 22, 1948 in Wichita, KS to the parents of William C. Jernigan Jr. and Elizabeth J Young. Early in childhood, William found home in Memphis, TN. He attended and was a graduate of Melrose High School 1966, followed by him attending Southwestern at Memphis. Jernigan served in the US Navy USS Enterprise CVN-65: Petty Officer Third Class Aviation Fire Control Technician during the Vietnam era from May 1968 to May 1972.
William went back to school at DeVry Institute of Technology where he was a Teaching Assistant, working alongside instructors with entry-leveled technician students. As well as tutoring students in Math, English and electronics, he earned an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Technology in 1976. William was employed with Sandia Laboratories and Intel in Albuquerque, NM and was able to retire with NXP of 24 years here in Austin, TX.
As an active member of The One Way Baptist Church William taught Wednesday Night Teen Bible Study, and served as a founding chair for The Voice Outreach Committee, a community outreach committee mostly responsible for the now City of Round Rock Juneteenth Celebration: Rhythm and Ribs Festival. William preceded in death following his Father William C. Jernigan Jr. and Beloved Mother Elizabeth J. Young.

A memorial service for William will be held Friday, February 10, 2023 at 3:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas.
