He was married to the love of his life Mary L. Parker on December 31, 1953. Who preceded him in death. Bill and Mary were married 59 years. He worked for the City of Austin Water Department for 39 years. He was a faithful member of Ridgetop Baptist Church for over 60 years. Bill had a passion for fishing, woodworking, eating watermelon, traveling and fixing things.
He is survived by Belinda Gail Means and Carolyn Janiece Crooks-Ingram. Adopted daughter Donna Dempe. Grandchildren David Ingram, Alicia Jallah, Michael Ingram, Derek Crooks, Jessica Sanchez, their spouses and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son William Wesley Crooks Jr.
Bill has two siblings Gerald Wayne Crooks and Sissy Penney. He was preceded in death by his parents A.E. Crooks and Willowease Blair, his brothers Jay Crooks, Leroy Crooks and Leon Crooks. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
