Bill is survived by his mother, Shirley Quick; wife, Maria Quick; brothers Ted, Karl and Jimmy; sisters Gina Armstrong and Nancy Swaney; children Sherman Quick, Greg Quick, Scott Quick, Theresa Alonzo, Daniel Soliz, Martha Gilbert, John Contreras, Josh Contreras and Melissa Contreras; and grandchildren Aaron, Brandon Nicole, Eliana, Hailey, Leilah, Eli, Ethan, Sierra, Aubrey, Madison, Sue, Travis, Elijah, Dominic, Luke, Colt, MacKenzie and Hannah.
He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar T. Quick.
Bill was born on September 10, 1948 in Austin, Texas to Oscar and Shirley Quick. He graduated from Southwest Texas with a Masters in Education. He married Maria Alonzo in 1999. Bill, a Sergeant in the US Army, served as a medic in Japan during the Vietnam War. Bill worked in education, both as a teacher and principal, over four decades.
Bill was a servant, selflessly putting others ahead of himself; serving those in his life relentlessly. His love was always first rate, unconditional and without hesitation. In the end, his spirit was strong, dancing hand-in-hand with his bride; two souls forever joined in the light of the Lord.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home (14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660). A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:00am at Promiseland Church (1504 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723). Pastor Randy Phillips will officiate the ceremony.
Pallbearers for the service are Steve Hinton, Roy Soto, Paul Soto, Carlton Quick, Luis Delgado, Greg Quick, Brandon Quick and Tomas Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearers for the service are Josie, Pamela, Clarissa and Kassandra Soto; Don and Grace Aguilera; Karl and Lisa Quick; Gina Armstrong; Corky Delgado.
