She was a very artistic and creative person and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafting, cooking and baking. She was also gifted at playing the piano. Virginia married the love of her life, Tom Buckingham, on September 20, 1952 at the Chapel of the University United Methodist Church in Austin. Virginia was a very loving and attentive mother and cherished every moment spent supporting her children’s activities. You could always count on her to be the first to volunteer for any school activity, assisting on school field trips or fulfilling the role of “room mom”.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Tom Buckingham; children, Sandy Craft and her husband Jeff of Beckville, Texas, Greg Buckingham and his wife Irma of North Richland Hills, Texas and Nancy Kenny and her husband Robert of Cedar Park, Texas; grandchildren, Danielle Buckingham, Victoria Buckingham, Sara Kenny, Robert Kenny III and Kerri Kenny; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Noah and Percy; brother-in-law, Robert Buckingham and his wife Maxine and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
