Ruth Virginia Aldridge

Jeannie, an Austin Resident most of her life, passed away peacefully to her eternal home on Tuesday, April 29th, at the age of 80 years. She was born in Covington, Texas on November 12, 1933 the youngest of 4 children of Drew and Bessie Taylor. She graduated from Austin High School and met and married Russell Aldridge whom she was married to for 56 years until his death in 2008. Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Jeannie always loved singing and dancing to Country music and playing dominoes with her family and friends! She was an avid Crossword Puzzle enthusiast and enjoyed watching her dearly loved soap operas. Jeannie had many friends and family with whom she loved to spend time and take trips all over the United States.

Jeannie is survived by her son, Russell Dale Aldridge and wife Nina; two daughters, Anita Aldridge Herzog and husband Greg and Shirlene Aldridge Clark and husband Mike. She loved her grandchildren, Chris Scott Herzog, Aubrie Aldridge Kudrick, Adrienne Aldridge Lindsey, Aimee Lauren Renfrew, and John Michael Clark as well as her 8 great-grandchildren!

The family wishes to thank Hospice Compassus for their excellent support and loving care. Special thanks for all the friends and family who kept her in their prayers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Compassus or any charity of their choice.

Viewing will take place on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 starting at 9:00am with services following at 10am also at the funeral home. Committal services will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
