Rosa was known for her bright, happy smile, and her most beautiful sparkling brown eyes. She loved life and enjoyed being around those she most loved. Her nature was loving, parental and very giving. She was happiest when she was able to nurture others, especially her sons.
Rosa valued friends and her family. She cherished her culture customs and traditions of her upbringing in Mexico. She showed affection, love and respect to her family through the years. Rosa truly made a difference in the lives of others because she genuinely cared about people.
Rosa’s story began on August 31, 1956. She was born to Maria Luisa Zapata and Vicente Insauste in Matamoros, Coahuila, Mexico. She was the seventh born child of the family of eight. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Hector, Jose Luis, Armando and Vicente. In addition, her youngest sister Juanita. She has two living sisters Antonia and Teresa.
In 1971, Rosa moved to the United States. In 1973, she met Joe, in Santa Ana, California while he was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Rosa and Joe married on March 12, 1974. They were married for 48 years. Through the years, they built a beautiful family with the blessing of three sons: Eric, Adrien and Gabriel. Their family grew through the years with the addition of five grandchildren: Victoria, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Evan and Mateo. Then came four great-grandchildren Vincent, Elijah, Journee and Jenson.
Rosa owned and operated her own hair salon business Fancy Cuts. She took great pride in her work and loved her clients. She was recognized as one of the town’s best hair stylists. Her expertise, charismatic and lively attitude were instrumental in the success of her business. Rosa loved changing her own hairstyles through the years. She loved wearing makeup, using fragrant perfumes, dressing up and always shined her light with her beautiful smile. She was known for her cheerfulness, wild sense of humor, wise cracks, and jokes. Rosa truly loved making people laugh. Some of her clients would say, “Rosa makes me beautiful”. Rosa would respond with “I do not perform miracles”. She loved singing, music and dancing. Her favorite music was Mexican songs such as corrido’s, nortenos and rancheras. She took joy in singing to her clients while she worked on their hair. Rosa loved cooking and was known for her authentic Mexican meals. On special occasions she enjoyed making homemade tamales for her family. which were so delicious; you could not eat just one.
Rosa’s love, kindness, laughter, and friendship will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, for she has left a void in our hearts that she could only fill. We find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed home by her Maker, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to be reunited with her dearly departed loved ones.
Rosa is survived by her husband, her three sons: Eric (Marilu), Adrien (Serena), and Gabriel (Lauren). Her five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and so many friends.
A Rosary service will held 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at the funeral home. Reception to immediately follow the service.
