Ronald Abel Rodriguez

Ron, or Ronnie to his family, entered into his eternal home on August 18, 2020. Ronnie was born in Austin, Texas on July 11, 1961, to Eustacio and Esperanza Rodriguez. He attended McCallum High School and Concordia Lutheran University where he earned his bachelor’s degree.

Ronnie was so full of life. He will be remembered by many for his quick wit and his ability to make people laugh, whether it was a friend or someone he just met. Ronnie had a gentle heart and loving soul. He was congenial and easy going. He always helped a friend or stranger in need. We are grateful for the uniqueness and spunk he brought to our lives. He will forever live in our hearts!

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and other loved ones. Those remaining to celebrate his life and memories include his mother – Esperanza (Hope) Rodriguez; siblings – Ernest Rodriguez (Cindy), Suzanne Subia, Elizabeth Flores (Daniel), Moe Rodriguez (Lindsie); nieces (Ilissa, Bella (DJ), Iliana (Logan), Kristen (Josh), AnaLisa, Laura, Juliana & great-niece, Chiara), nephews (John & Miguel); godchildren – Aaron Williams (Liz), Andrew Williams, Allison Saylor (Brenton); and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Rodriguez family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU staff at St. David's South Austin Hospital who took amazingly compassionate care of Ronnie for the short time he was in their care.
