Former Vancouver, Washington resident Robert (Bob) William Canton, age 82, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on February 10, 2012 in Austin, Texas. He was born on February 25, 1929 in Cushing, Minnesota.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy of Bastrop, TX; his five children, Catherine Lee of Kennesaw, GA, Suzi Canton of Bastrop, TX, Mitzi Ampania of Vancouver, WA, Scotty Canton and Tracey Canton of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bud; his sister, Vera; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and his extended family of in-laws.
He was a loving son, brother, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He has received his place in heaven. We shall all miss his bear hugs, his laughter, his love, and his smiling face. We, his family, will carry the best of him with us throughout the rest of our lives, and we will pass that love on to our children.
