Richard "Dick" Likon, aged 87, passed away on March 29, 2024, in Pflugerville, Texas. He was born in the Bronx, New York on April 5, 1936. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susan Likon, and two adult children, Chris Likon and Laura Jennings.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and lifelong friend. He was the oldest son of Richard and Lilac Likon, and he spent most of his childhood in Rockledge, Florida with his two brothers, Bob and Ronnie, enjoying all that beach life in the mid-40's and 50's had to offer. He graduated from Sewanee University in Tennessee in 1958 and joined the United States Air Force. He had a long and fulfilling career in the USAF for 23 years before retiring to public life as a commercial property appraiser in Orlando, Florida.
Dick was an avid camper; he and his wife and kids spent many weekends and family vacations camping together wherever they were stationed while in the military and all across Florida. Once the kids were grown and gone, Dick and Sue took many long road trips across the United States and into Canada in their RV; they were often found camping with their lifelong friends, Jay and Linda, from Tampa, Florida.
In addition to his wife and children, he is also survived by his two sons-in-laws, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was a good man, a good Episcopalian, and will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held on April 13th, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Richards Episcopal Church, 1420 E. Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, Texas 78664.
