Rex Edward Parks was called home on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held on March 6, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Park Funeral Home in Pflugerville, TX. Rex will be laid to rest in Lubbock, TX and a smaller service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Chapel in Lubbock, TX. Family and friends will celebrate his 66 years of life.
Rex was born on January 11, 1949 in Lubbock, Texas to Arnom and Mary Parks. He married Christine, “Mickey” Watts on August 23, 1968. They were happily married for 46 years and cherished their two daughters, Mendy and Stacy. Rex enjoyed a successful 32 year career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Rex was known for his outgoing personality, devoted care for his family and friends, generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. He was adored by many and spent his life as a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, friend, and many other cherished roles.
Survivors include his wife Chris Parks of Round Rock; his children and their spouses, Mendy and Chris Blevins of Pflugerville; Stacy and Charles Hall of Tomball, TX; his brothers and their spouses, Clayton and Loretta Parks, Don and Robin Parks, all of Lubbock; and four precious grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jaxson, Cade, and Caelin. Rex will be dearly missed by all who knew him and never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Texas Baptist Children’s Home in Round Rock, TX.
